So the weekend was filled with things from discovering that our Cub Cadet will not start, to learning that the old lawnmower basically carves grass rather than mows it. Husband will not be happy when he sees it, but it will grow.
I’m trying again to maintain a “Done” or “Finished” log so that I can at least see some of the things I’m accomplishing. I spent a lot of time purging a file cabinet and must now get things to the trash before my spouse returns and discovers things we just should not get rid of for another 20 years.
Spent some time with my brother, who is far more sociable than I am. I’m starting to feel the push of all the people who are now realizing that I’m retired and want some of my time. Of course, the people I want to spend time with have none available for me. So, I must move past that.
This morning started at 4am-ish. Just too uncomfortable to continue sleeping. Now I’m feeling sweaty, tired, and slightly nauseous – the usual for me when I’m running on 6 hours sleep. I actually felt badly enough to take a Covid test (negative). I must find a way to catch up sleep before tonight’s crafting meeting. I’ve organized a monthly get-together to learn a new skill and to try to make some non-work friends. Time will tell how this goes.
I’ve paid a few bills and need to get on a better schedule paying off credit cards in full so they don’t end up as much as what I just had to transfer. Paid car insurance. Going to have to write checks to the IRS and Commonwealth today for nearly 6 figures. Hopefully that will be the last of the enormous tax bills. I need to take time and wipe down the bathrooms, wash my hair. Writing all this seems surreal – these are my main tasks – not my “do these and still run a business” tasks for the day.
Did I mention I’m growing out my natural hair color for the only the 2nd time in 30 years? Going to be a big change.
